Subway manner posters attract popular attention

A set of amusing cartoons displayed by Tokyo Metro Co in its subway stations continues to attract popular attention, with the latest series of ‘‘manner posters’’ adding to the more than 400 similar creations over the past 35 years.

Tokyo Metro started displaying the eye-catching black-and-yellow cartoon posters in April 2008, with a different poster put up each month, calling on passengers to refrain from bad behavior on trains, such as eating, dropping litter, putting on makeup and sitting in an inconsiderate manner.
